This webinar, hosted by the Vasectomy Working Group within the LARC/PM Community of Practice, will be moderated by Alice Payne Merritt, Director of Technical Programs, Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs.
Panelists:
Edward Ikiugu, Marie Stopes Kenya
MSK will present findings from a qualitative study conducted among the catchment population of their urban clinics in Nairobi in 2014. The assessment aimed to inform vasectomy messaging and demand generation activities by determining the levels of knowledge, attitudes and practices towards vasectomies.
Roy Jacobstein, IntraHealth International
IntraHealth’s Senior Medical Advisor will provide the latest data regarding vasectomy use and will address why vasectomy use has generally been so low in low-resource countries. The presentation will give ideas on what can be done about it, beginning with appreciating that the nonavailability of vasectomies in these countries is fundamentally a gender issue.
Jonathan Stack, World Vasectomy Day
Three years since its conception, a potent idea whose purpose is to inspire men to rise up for themselves, their families, their partners and our future, has grown into one of the largest male-oriented family planning events in history. Jonathan Stack shares five lessons he’s learned about how to grow a movement… one vasectomy at a time.
