Six Local Stories of Generating Demand for RMNCAH Commodities

September 8, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am

On Thursday, September 8, 2016, from 8 am – 9 am EDT log in: https://connect.johnshopkins.edu/adaptdgikit/

Learn how the Demand Generation Implementation Kit (I-Kit) was adapted by six local organizations.

In support of the United Nations Commission on Life-Saving Commodities for Women and Children (UNCoLSC), the Health Communication Capacity Collaborative (HC3) – with support from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) – has been hosting a three-part webinar series focused on increasing demand for life-saving but underutilized reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health (RMNCAH) commodities.

This third and final webinar will bring together six panelists – all recipients of a small project grant – to discuss their experiences in adapting and using the Demand Generation I-Kit for their local context and their efforts toward developing and implementing demand generation strategies in their respective countries. This I-Kit has been widely disseminated worldwide over the past two years. As part of these efforts, six small grants were made available to interested organizations involved in local efforts to facilitate demand generation for these lifesaving commodities in priority countries (Bangladesh, Nepal, Madagascar and Tanzania).

Stephanie Levy, Social and Behavior Change Advisor, USAID, will moderate this panel discussion with representatives from each of the six selected local organizations:

  • Phect Nepal
  • BRAC University (Bangladesh)
  • T-MARC Tanzania
  • Pharmaceutical Services of Tanzania (PST)
  • Salfa-Lorel (Madagascar)
  • Action pour la Justice et le Progrès des Populations (AJPP) (Madagascar)

The first webinar in this series focused on integrating gender especially working with men and boys for RMNCAH programs, while the second focused on highlighting pioneering programs that have expertly used Information and Communication Technology (ICT) approaches to generate demand for RMNCAH products and services.
