Addis 2013 here we come with our new Demand Generation Implementation Kit in hand and ready to launch!
We are in the midst of our final preparations for the upcoming and much anticipated International Conference on Family Planning starting November 12 -15th in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We look forward to meeting our fellow FP colleagues and sharing, discussing and planning movement forward to continue on our positive trajectory towards our FP 2020 goal: Full Access – Full Choice!
Come join us on Tuesday November 12th for an exciting event featuring a high-level panel and roundtable discussions showcasing efforts by the UN Commission on Life-Saving Commodities for Women and Children (The Commission), part of the Every Woman Every Child movement, to enhance equitable access to lifesaving commodities across the RMNCH continuum of care.
Time: 12.00-1.00pm (lunch) 1.00-2.30pm (high-level panel and roundtable discussions)

We at HC3 along with USAID and our key partners are proud to introduce and launch a very new and exciting online step-by-step guide to developing communication strategies to increase demand for underutilized commodities in RMNCH. This unique Demand Generation Implementation Kit (I-Kit) has been carefully crafted to be user friendly and adaptable across countries and contexts containing both commodity specific communication strategies and cross-cutting resources. The I-Kit provides a variety of users, from donors to program managers, the tools they need to jump start, reinvigorate, or redirect their communication programs for increased demand generation of specific commodities or health areas within family planning, focusing first on contraceptive implants and emergency contraceptive pills. In the coming months, additional content will be added for female condoms, misoprostol, magnesium sulfate, chlorhexidine, ORS/zinc and amoxicillin.
The final product is not just another standalone plan or strategy but a multifaceted communication plan that can facilitate the integration of commodity-specific content into existing national communication strategies and interventions.
Make it a point to come by and take part in this session. In addition to the Demand Generation Implementation Kit, PATH will launch the Commission’s Advocacy Toolkit and there will be the opportunity to explore these tools and discuss opportunities for addressing critical barriers and challenges to accessing medicines and supplies at the global level and within countries.
