Join the Health Communication Capacity Collaborative (HC3) on December 7 at 9am EST for a webinar on real-time activity monitoring and reporting technologies and how they are advancing global health. This online event is the fourteenth in HC3’s innovation webinar series, designed to spotlight a broad range of health communication innovations while providing a meaningful mix of theory and practical examples.

Moderated by:

Samir Doshi is a Senior Scientist at U.S. Agency for International Development’s Global Development Lab. Samir leads the Real-Time Data for Adaptive Management initiative, with a focus on how local communities can use digital technologies in complex environments to better monitor, evaluate, learn and adapt to emergent and dynamic situations across development and humanitarian efforts. Samir also supports USAID’s Ebola response and recovery work and the strengthening of health systems and sustainable development in West Africa.

Christine Garcia works in content and communications at SocialCops, a data intelligence company that empowers organizations to tackle the world’s most critical problems through data. SocialCops works with over 150+ organizations across 8+ countries, and was named to Fortune India 40 Under 40 (2015 and 2016), Forbes India 30 Under 30 2015, and Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 2016. Within the company, Christine leads our efforts to empower organizations and decision makers with the resources, data insights, and knowledge they need to effectively use data intelligence for important decisions.
Adam Talsma is the Senior Designer and Nigeria Country Manager for Reboot, coordinating program design and implementation with an emphasis on design research. A consummate builder and problem solver, Adam led community-driven engineering initiatives for social enterprises in India prior to joining Reboot. Adam was instrumental to the design and testing of Reboot’s My Voice, an SMS-based citizen feedback platform to enable citizen-driven improvement of public services.
Evan Thomas, PhD, PE, MPH is the Chief Executive Officer of SweetSense Inc., a spin-out of Portland State University. Evan is also an Associate Professor and Faculty Fellow in the Institute for Sustainable Solutions at Portland State University. Evan works at the interface of engineering, environmental health and social business, with professional experience working in government, industry, non-profits and academia. Evan is a social business entrepreneur engaged in global health programs and co-founded SWEETSense Inc. in 2012. SWEETSense’s remote monitoring systems provide the crucial, near real-time evidence needed to improve the transparency, accountability, and cost-effectiveness of remote water, energy and infrastructure projects to improve health and quality of life.
