Spotlight on the Asia Springboard Secretariat

The Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs (BCCP) will lead a Springboard online discussion, September 5-9, outlining upcoming plans and events for the Asia Springboard Secretariat.

Springboard for Health Communication Professionals is an online and in person community of social and behavior chance communication professionals worldwide. There are two Springboard Secretariats, one in Asia and one in Africa.

BCCP is a non-profit, non-government development communication organization operating since 1996 in Bangladesh. BCCP works to empower people through strategic communication to build a just, healthy, enlightened, poverty and exploitation free society. BCCP designs, manages and implements large-scale communication programs for different social development sectors using global and national partnerships, promoting result- oriented multi-sectoral collaboration and efficiency of scaling up sustainable behavior change. Building upon its origins in the health sector, BCCP also offers expertise in education, agriculture, democracy and good governance, and other social development sectors.

As the Asia Springboard Secretariat, BCCP fosters relationships to promote harmony and synergy in SBCC efforts for effective use of resources and better the health of people in the region. Through close coordination with each country in Asia, BCCP coordinates, guides and promotes activities of country-level Springboard groups, enabling professionals to connect, share ideas and resources and learn together while improving the practice of health communications and building the capacity of its members.

Tawfique Jahan and Israt Sultana of the BCCP will serve as discussion facilitators. It will be moderated by Kojo Lokko, Deputy Director of the Health Communication Capacity Collaborative.

Join the discussion on Springboard to learn what to expect in the Asia Region in the near future and have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.  The BCCP will answer questions such as:

  • How will the Asia Springboard Secretariat facilitate and support the SBCC community in Asia?
  • Why is there a need for this coordinating role?
  • Why should SBCC practitioners join Springboard and engage frequently?
  • What events can Springboard members expect to be coming up in Asia and how can they participate?
  • What ideas does BCCP have for a sustainable Springboard in the countries and in the region?

You must be a registered member to participate. Registration is free.
