Women play a key role in the success of voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) programs. PEPFAR will hold a webinar Nov. 19 to examine more deeply their role, as well as the biomedical prevention impact of VMMC on women. The Health Communication Capacity Collaborative (HC3) supports the ongoing PEPFAR Webinar Series on VMMC.

Naomi Bock, MD, MS, Science Deputy in the HIV Prevention Branch of the Division of Global HIV/AIDS at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will serve as moderator for the two-hour discussion. Featured speakers include:
- Stephanie Davis, MD, MPH, medical officer on the CDC HIV Prevention Branch’s Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision Team
- Elijah Odoyo-June, Public Health Specialist and technical lead for VMMC at the DGHA Prevention Branch within CDC Kenya
- Kelly Curran, Director for HIV/AIDS and Infectious Diseases at Jhpiego
- Bertran Auvert, MD, PhD, Professor of Public Health at the medical school of the University of Versailles, France
- Kawango Agot, MPH, PhD, Director of Impact Research & Development Organization, the largest VMMC service provider and trainer in Kenya
- Khanyisa Dunjwa, an AVAC 2014 HIV Prevention Advocacy Fellow based at the Networking HIV/AIDS Community of South Africa (NACOSA) and a member of the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC)’s Women’s Sector Expert Group
- John Byabagambi, Improvement Advisor at University Research Co., LLC (URC) and currently working on the USAID Applying Science to Strengthen and Improve Systems (ASSIST) Project in Uganda
